Sanction of 1,000 euros and 'long lap' to Masià and Toba for slapping each other

The trio of World Championship stewards have sanctioned Moto3 riders Jaume Masià (KTM Ajo) and Kaito Toba (Green Power) with a fine of 1,000 euros and a long lap for coming to blows during the third free practice of the Valencian Community GP.

The action that ignited the spirits happened at the end of the third Moto3 practice. The Valencian pilot overtook the Japanese on the inside of the curve, both touched and went to the ground. When they got up, in the gravel, Toba reproached Masià for his action and gave him a couple of blows to the helmet. The Spaniard's response was angry: he punched and pushed him, while the track marshals tried to separate them.

The World Championship stewards -Freddie Spencer, Raffaelle de Fabritiis and Andrés Somolinos- analyzed the images of the incident and the fight, and decided to sanction the two drivers for their unsportsmanlike conduct, both with the same sanction: they must start from the pit-lane at this Sunday's race in Cheste, comply with a long-lap during the race and pay a fine of 1,000 euros.
