Rupert Murdoch's granddaughter reveals why her marriage lasted only 12 hours

It was in the summer of 2022 when Charlotte Murdoch Freud, the daughter of Elisabeth Murdoch and Matthew Freud, said 'I do' with musician Luke Storey, at a star-studded wedding. The setting for the wedding, held in St. Mary's Church in the picturesque town of Westwell (England), looked like a traditional country wedding. However, this idea was dashed when her grandfather, media mogul Rupert Murdoch, arrived by helicopter, dressed in a striking white suit and red suede shoes. Although little remains of that wedding, which only lasted a few hours. The young woman, 23, separated from her and has revealed the reasons why the marriage came to an end.

The young woman opened up in a conversation with The Mail, which came to light this Sunday. "We had been married for 12 hours when our whole world fell apart. It fell apart on the way to our honeymoon. It wasn't a great sign," she said. Charlotte thus revealed that her marriage to the rapper ended hours after her marriage. The young woman met Luke, a recovering drug and alcohol addict, when she was just 18 and he was 33. He encouraged her to join Narcotics Anonymous, helping her end her addiction to ketamine.

Charlotte has assured in this new interview that she soon realized that Luke was "a kind of first husband deal." "I felt like there were three people in the relationship: him and me and our recovery," she said. "If our recovery was strong, then we were strong, and if it wasn't, we were falling apart. We had a great relationship when we were sober, but neither of us could stay sober," she said.

On the other hand, he has opened up about the wedding. "The wedding was very public and everyone thought our relationship was incredible," she began. However, they divorced 14 months after getting married. Now, the young woman lives in Los Angeles with another guy, and she's preparing to launch a sober dating app called Club Pillar in the coming months.

She was inspired to become the face of the app after a brief stint using a celebrity dating app. "It can be isolating to date as a sober person, particularly in the UK where drinking culture is so prevalent," she began. "I think the Club Pillar movement is a beautiful thing and I can't wait to use the app," she said.

Charlotte also admitted that she is a fan of the Succession series, saying that "it's totally true that it's based on my family." Furthermore, she claimed to be delighted to see her. The young woman stated to the aforementioned media that her mother inspired Sarah Snook's character, Shiv Roy, the power-hungry daughter of media baron Logan Roy, played by Brian Cox. It should be remembered that her family is one of the most powerful in the world of business and media.
