The waterfalls of the Gorg de la Plana and the Salt del Molí dels Murris look fantastic at this point in spring, although still with little water despite the recent rains.

It can be seen in this photographic report in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, where we propose a route through these small waterfalls in the region of La Garrotxa.

The Gorg de la Plana is located in the valleys of Cogolls and Hostoles, surrounded by the cliffs of El Far (1,150 m), La Salut (1,020 m) and the Sierra de les Medes (884 m), where the volcano is located. Puig Rodó and irrigated by the Brugent river.

The Gorg de la Plana is part of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. In this area of Catalonia we find more than 40 extinct volcanic cones.

To get to the Gorg de la Plana, a route of only 1.72 km is covered. The excursion is easy, short and surrounded by waterfalls and beautiful scenery. It is an adventure that lasts approximately 45 minutes to enjoy the forest.

For its part, the Salt del Molí dels Murris is an aesthetic waterfall with a large pool in the Cogolls stream in La Garrotxa, a good place to cool off in summer.
