Rosa Peral and her father testify tomorrow before the judge for concealment of assets

Rosa Peral once again faces justice. The woman convicted of the crime by the Urban Police is summoned this Wednesday in a court in Tarragona to testify as an investigator for a crime of theft of property. The judge of number 5 of Tarragona decided to open a case against the former agent after accepting a complaint from the victim's family who reported that Peral had donated the apartment he owned to his father to avoid paying the victim's relatives the compensation that established the sentence. The accused is summoned at 11 a.m. at the Tarragona court where she will be transferred from the Mas d'Enrich prison. Her lawyer requested that she be able to testify by videoconference from prison but her request was denied. Her father, Francisco Peral, must also appear and give explanations for the same events.

Rosa Peral and Albert López, accused of the murder of the urban guard Pedro Rodríguez, were sentenced to long prison terms and the payment of 885,000 euros in compensation to the victim's relatives. Between the two of them they had to pay this amount, half each. 450,000 euros were destined for the son of the deceased. The compensation was to be paid once all avenues of appeal had been exhausted and the sentence was final. If this amount is not available, the assets will be seized. However, six days before the Supreme Court met to issue the ruling, Rosa Peral transferred to her father 50% of the ownership of the house she shared with her ex-husband in Vilanova i la Geltrú, the address where she later lived with Pedro Rodríguez and where the crime was committed.

The objective that Peral allegedly sought with this maneuver was to become insolvent in the eyes of justice and be exempt from paying compensation to the victim's relatives. According to the property registry, the change of ownership of the home was made on July 17, 2021. Six days later, on July 23, the vote was called and the ruling on the appeal of the Second Chamber of the Court was called. Supreme. Rosa Peral summoned a notary to the Mas d'Enric prison in Tarragona where she is imprisoned to proceed with the donation of the property to her father. The convicted person also transferred a car to her father. Specifically, a Mitsubishi Colt Cabrio that Francisco Peral later sold to a resident of Cubelles.

Rosa Peral was able to transfer the apartment to her father because the court did not notify the property registry that the property was seized. On May 14, 2017, the day after the arrest of Rosa Peral and Albert López for the death of Rodríguez, the investigating court 8 of Vilanova i la Geltrú, which took over the case, set the payment of bail at 250,000 euros. to ensure the payment of compensation if they were convicted in the future and if they did not pay, their properties would be immobilized without being able to sell or donate them. However, the court did not issue the order to the Property Registry that changed the ownership of Rosa Peral's apartment when it received notification from the notary. For his part, the other defendant, Albert López, has complied with the payment of compensation and has given up the apartment he owned in Badalona, which will be auctioned in the coming months.
