Rental housing in Mataró shoots up 15.2%

The price of rental housing in Catalonia increased by up to 8.1% last July in relation to the same month of 2022, which represents the third highest year-on-year rise so far this year, according to data from the real estate portal Photohouse. In Mataró, the increase was 15.2%.

The Fotocasa Real Estate Index places the average rental price in Catalonia in July at 15.99 euros/m2 per month, while it places the increase at 0.3% in relation to the previous month (June).

The rental price of a home has increased in up to 16 autonomous communities this July compared to a year earlier, with the highest increases in the Balearic Islands (30.1%), the Canary Islands (19.1%), Cantabria (16.6 %), the Valencian Community (13.7%) and Madrid (10.6%).

By provinces, Tarragona is where the price of rental housing in Catalonia has grown the most, 18.1%; followed by Barcelona (10.7%); Girona (8.5%) and Lleida (4.7%). Regarding prices, Barcelona is in the lead with 17.45 euros/m2; while in Girona it is 12.26 euros/m2; in Tarragona, 10.17 euros/m2; and in Lleida, 7.59 euros/m2.

If it is analyzed by municipality, Vilanova i la Geltrú, in Barcelona, ​​is the one with the largest increase in July with 18.4%. It is followed by Mataró (15.2%), Tortosa (15%), Tarragona (14.3%), Sabadell (13.8%), Castelldefels (12.6%), Barcelona (12.1%) , L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (11.9%) and Cornellà de Llobregat (11.8%).

As for the price per square meter in July, Barcelona leads the list with 20.66 euros/m2, followed by Esplugues de Llobregat (18.57 euros/m2), Castelldefels (18.45 euros/m2), Sitges ( 18.08 euros/m2 ), L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (17.25 euros/m2), Sant Cugat del Vallès (16.97 euros/m2), Cornellà de Llobregat (16.29 euros/m2), Badalona (15 .37 euros/m2), Vilanova i la Geltrú (14. euros/m2) and Mataró (13.20 euros/m2).
