The Barcelona Court has sentenced former Brazilian FC Barcelona player, Dani Alves, to four and a half years in prison for the rape of a young woman at the Sutton nightclub in the Catalan capital on December 30, 2022. The court considers that it has been proven with evidence and testimony that the victim did not consent to the sexual relationship they had. Furthermore, it is considered proven that "the accused abruptly grabbed the complainant, threw her to the ground and, preventing her from moving, penetrated her vaginally, even though the complainant said no, that she wanted to leave."
