Queen Margaret of Denmark shot up her daily spending last year "to a level rarely seen"

With the arrival of March, millions of businesses, companies and entities around the world are taking stock of the last year's spending to analyze the needs of each organization and have the best possible organization. This also affects the Royal Houses.

As reported by the Scandinavian media Seg or Hor, the Danish royal family had very high expenses last year, especially Queen Margaret. As the aforementioned newspaper has published, Federico X's mother spent an average of 22,793 euros per day in 2023.

Se og Hor has had access to different documents on the VAT refund of the Royal House and has been surprised by the unusual expenses of the monarch of Denmark for more than 50 years.

In total, Queen Margaret spent 62,019,412.70 Danish crowns (equivalent to a total of 8.3 million euros) on goods and services subject to VAT, so it must be taken into account that, in addition to said figure, we must add everything that does not include VAT (salaries, some taxes, etc.).

If we compare the 2023 spending with that of previous years, we can see that the queen 'went all out' and increased the figure considerably. In 2022, she broke all records with 46.5 million crowns (6.2 million euros) and in 2021 she spent 36.8 million crowns (4.9 million euros).

The media has asked the Royal Family why spending has increased so obviously this year and the entity has responded that it is mainly due to the works being carried out in one of the official residences. of the Queen. ''The increase in expenses in 2023 is due to the important renovation works that Queen Margaret is carrying out at Marselisborg Castle in these years," explained the treasurer of the Danish Royal House, Dan Folke Pedersen.

It is a fortress from the year 1500 where the queen and part of her family spend the summer period and enjoy other holidays such as Easter or Christmas. Although the palace already underwent a renovation in the late 60s (when it passed into the hands of Margarita), the aristocrat wanted to adapt it to her current needs and has invested a large amount of money in making it perfect.
