Prison without bail for two detainees for the death of the young man at the train stop in Boo de Piélagos

The head of the Investigative Court number 4 of Santander, on duty this Monday, has agreed to provisional detention without bail for the two young people detained for the death of another boy, 21 years old, last Saturday at the train stop of Boo from Piélagos after a fight.

The two involved, aged 19 and 20 and residents of Piélagos, have been brought to justice this morning as being investigated in open proceedings for the crime of homicide, after the death of the other boy, aged 21 and from Polanco.

After giving both statements, the judge has agreed to adopt the aforementioned provisional measure, judicial sources have reported. They arrived at the judicial offices around 9:00 a.m. to appear before the magistrate, while the Civil Guard continues the investigation into what happened and an autopsy has already been performed on the deceased.

The events occurred around 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, when a "quarrel" occurred between three people at the Boo de Piélagos train stop and, as a result of that altercation, a young man died. Next, the Civil Guard arrested two boys as alleged perpetrators of the homicide.

The event forced the railway line between Mogro and Santa Cruz de Bezana to be cut during the morning, affecting the Media Distancia and Cercanías trains from Santander to Cabezón de la Sal, although hours later circulation was restored.

The Polanco City Council decreed a day of official mourning and called a rally, on Sunday at 12:00 p.m., in the Plaza del Consistorio, in memory of the deceased young man, Carlos Cubillas.
