Paz Carrillo portrays the contemporary and intimate world of Guillermo Lorca, the star of Moco

The emerging Base Elements Gallery in Barcelona, owned by Robert Burts, was filled with beautiful people, artists, influencers, collectors and art lovers (such as Roberto Kampf, Juliana Plexxo, Sonny Kirchner, Ivana Flores, Alexia Rros and Soem Mac) to enjoy of the first exhibition of the series “Unveling Imagination”, in which Paz Carrillo dissects the talent of different artists from his camera.

Paz Carrillo portrays there the renowned contemporary painter Guillermo Lorca (Santiago de Chile, 1984), of great international renown and with work exhibited at the Moco Museum Barcelona (“El Esplendor de la noche” since October 2022)

Known for his large-format oil paintings in a hyper-realistic style, with dreamlike expressions that encompass themes such as innocence, violence and sensuality, the artist will also hang in the new MOCO Museum that will open in 2024 in London.

Carrillo, his friend and photographer (of him and a lot of artists who are lining up to have their own session) explained that the motivation for this series is precisely “the connection with artists and new references lead me to want to portray Lorca beyond Of his works. Allowing the untamed to dance between the conscious and the unconscious, the light and the dark, the profound and the sublime.”
