Ortuzar says that he has already received the call from Feijóo and asks Sánchez to comply with the agreement

The first Alderdi Eguna (Party Day) after the pandemic has offered several eloquent statements about the moment in which the PNV finds itself and how the political circumstances in Spain, as well as the global socioeconomic situation, affect its political action. The president of the EBB, the party executive, Andoni Ortuzar, has revealed that he has already received a call from Núñez Feijóo, with whom he will meet shortly, and, in parallel, has demanded that Pedro Sánchez comply with what was agreed at the beginning of the legislature.

The PNV's speech has been marked, therefore, by the political position it occupies in Spanish politics, as a dissatisfied partner of the Sánchez government who, at the same time, has been the recipient of winks from Núñez Feijóo.

Ortuzar, in any case, has indicated that his priority is to complete the legislature and that during the remaining period the agreement is fulfilled. "We have an agreement in force with Sánchez and fulfilling that agreement in its entirety is our main intention in the remaining 15 months of the legislature in the State", he pointed out at the traditional jeltzale festival that is celebrated annually in the fields of Foronda (Álava ).

The leader of the PNV has once again asked the Sánchez government for "political will" because "many commitments" remain to be fulfilled, referring, among other issues, to pending transfers. "Time goes by and it's time to face the word given as the Basque Nationalist Party does every time it votes in Congress and in the Senate", he indicated.

Ortuzar has qualified his pressure on Sánchez by pointing out that he is not going to "fall into the arms" of the popular ones. In addition, he has disdained to analyze that next meeting with Feijóo because, as he has said, in Spanish politics, divided into two "irreconcilable" blocs, if you raise your voice a little "there is always someone who writes that you are already going over to the other side" "The PNV only has one side, which is Euskadi. Neither Sánchez nor Feijóo: Euskadi and only Euskadi," he settled.

However, Ortuzar has hinted that, without Vox, an understanding with the PP could be possible. The leader of the PNV has said that for once he is going to agree with the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, who this week has warned the PP that he cannot govern with the votes of his party and the PNV at the same time . "Indeed, us and us, with looks, nothing at all, let it be clear," he exclaimed.

Along with Andoni Ortuzar, the other main protagonist of the first Party Day after the pandemic was the president, Iñigo Urkullu.

The leader of the Basque Executive has indicated that Euskadi is "prepared and willing to face" the change of era that is being experienced "from action", and has opted for "action, in the face of uncertainty and paralysis".

"We are a people that has suffered and gone through very difficult times. We have responded to each difficulty by getting up again to continue on our way. It is important to have a clear direction. There is no favorable wind for those who do not know where they are going. We know where we want to go and we are willing to work as a people to achieve it. A prosperous, green, innovative Euskadi. A committed, supportive Euskadi... the people who only wait run the risk of being left in the gutter", he pointed out.

Urkullu has also listed the goals to face for the future, among which he has placed "entering the group of the most prosperous European regions, with the highest income per inhabitant" or having unemployment below 6%, with "quality employment so that young people can develop a dignified and full life".

The Basque Country as a "carbon neutral territory", a leader in innovation, advanced, supportive, "with the lowest poverty rates in Europe" and a country "attractive and committed to culture, to the Basque language", has indicated, among other goals .
