The National Police have arrested a first person involved in the shooting that took place last Saturday in the Sevillian neighborhood of San José de Palmete, which killed one man and left two others injured. The investigation remains open and it is not ruled out that new arrests may occur since, according to witness statements, several individuals were involved in the event.

For now, the Investigative Court that has taken over the case has decreed the summary secrecy of the proceedings, although everything indicates that the confrontation, in which a Moroccan man died, could have occurred due to a settling of scores.

The National Police arrested a man this Sunday for the shooting that occurred last Saturday night in the San José de Palmete neighborhood, resulting in one man dying and two more men seriously injured, at least one of them admitted to the hospital. Virgen del Rocío, since the Investigating Court in charge of the matter has decreed the secrecy of the proceedings, as police sources have told Europa Press.

It was last Saturday around 10:30 p.m. when a person informed the emergency services that he had heard several explosions that sounded like gunshots on Libertad Street, in Palmete. 112 then activated the National Police, Local Police and 061.

Upon arrival, the agents saw a man, of Moroccan origin, who had died after receiving several gunshot wounds, and another person, the brother of the deceased according to Diario de Sevilla, also with gunshot wounds. There was a second seriously injured person who was taken in a private vehicle to the Virgen del Rocío Hospital where he was abandoned in the emergency room. The aggressor fled in a car after shooting both.

The mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, regretted the events on Sunday: "I regret the serious events that occurred last night in Palmete. The matter is now in the hands of the National Police to clarify the facts. Thanks to the security forces and bodies for the quick intervention," Sanz said in a message on the social network X, formerly Twitter.
