Night of lightning and sparks

I have captured for La Vanguardia Readers' Photos this spectacular image of a night of lightning and sparks in Gavà, a true festival in the sky, however, with little rain unfortunately in these times of drought.

And it's worth worrying because it's still not raining. It is as if the meaning of the expression "lightning and lightning," which is used to curse or express worry or fear, literally comes true.

Lightning is a powerful natural electrical discharge of static electricity, produced during a thunderstorm, which generates an electromagnetic pulse.

The precipitated electrical discharge of lightning is accompanied by the emission of light (lightning), caused by the passage of electric current, which ionizes the air molecules, and by the sound of thunder, developed by the shock wave.

Electricity (electric current), passing through the atmosphere, rapidly heats and expands the air, producing the characteristic noise of thunder.

Storms can give rise to these powerful natural electrical discharges of static electricity and offer us an authentic spectacle of light and sound in the sky, as if they were fireworks, as in this case, in Baix Llobregat.

The centella, whose etymological origin is in the word scintilla, expresses the idea of a spark, as if the sky were really lit.
