MSC abandons its projects for the ZAL of the Port of Valencia

MSC has announced to the Port Authority of Valencia that it is renouncing the construction of two industrial warehouses in the ZAL due to the paralysis of the start-up of this logistics area due to a judicial decision. The news, reported by several local newspapers, represents a paradigm shift in the Swiss shipping company that will now look for other locations near the port of Valencia.

In 2022, the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV) annulled the ZAL Special Plan approved by the Department of Territory in 2018. And, since then, it has been stagnant and paralyzed. The Contentious-Administrative Court number 2 of Valencia will examine the lawsuit from the citizen group Per l'Horta that requests the declaration of nullity of the redevelopment of the ZAL authorized by the Valencia city council and the reception of the works in the sector.

The trustee of Compromís, Papi Robles, has assessed that "with MSC's announcement of the abandonment of the ZAL lands, citizens today win a battle that has been going on for many years and for this we must stop and thank the Recuperem platform la Punta - Aturem la ZAL its work during all this time".
