Most of the British are satisfied with the figure of King Charles III

The majority of the British are satisfied with the figure of King Charles III, according to a survey carried out during the month of April by the Ipsos Institute and released this Friday, on the occasion of tomorrow's coronation ceremony. Specifically, 57% of citizens support the monarch, although his son William, Prince of Wales, is more valued than his father, with 62%.

On the other hand, almost half of the citizens of the United Kingdom (49%) believe that Carlos III is doing a "good job". That percentage was practically the same during the last twelve months, although between September and December it rose to 61%, coinciding with the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and the immediately following months.

However, Carlos III is not the member of the British royal family that his subjects like best. That honor goes to the Princess of Wales, Catherine (Kate Middleton), with 38%, followed by her husband, William, with 34%. The King's grandchildren, with 27%, occupy the third place of the most loved members, while the fourth place goes to Princess Anne, the King's sister, with 25%. In fifth place is the monarch himself, with 20%; and his wife Camila, the queen consort, has 10% and is in ninth position on a list that closes with 4% another brother of the king, Andrés, involved in the sex scandal of American millionaire Jeffrey Epstein.

Regarding the closeness of the royal family with its subjects, 43% of the British believe that the king is little in contact with ordinary people and only 36% believe that he is familiar with the problems of citizenship.

In another question from Ipsos, 42% believe that the royal family is privileged, while only 37% think the same of Carlos III. In the same sense, 38% consider that the royal family is important to the United Kingdom but only 30% believe that it is the monarch himself, who will be crowned this Saturday in London.
