At 12:50 p.m. today, Thursday, around 40 observatories in the network of the Valencian Association of Meteorology (Avamet) registered temperatures above 40º and some were close to 42º, according to the organization. The highest values (41.7º) have been reached in Vilamarxant, Atzeneta del Maestrat and Jérica.
Above the 41º were also the observatories of Fanzara, Quesa, Castell de Castells, Montserrat and Soneja. And over 40 localities such as Cheste, Canals, Ontinyent, Alcoi, Enguera, Simat de la Valldigna, Carlet or La Pobla de Vallbona.
Health has decreed the red (high) level due to the high temperatures of the current third heat wave in most of the municipalities of the Valencian Community, where in many cases the values will exceed 40 degrees.
