Montero turns on the 'face to face': "False news and mud will not work for Feijóo"

The leaders of the PSOE and PP, Pedro Sánchez and Alberto Núñez Feijóo, are leading a two-way debate tonight that could be decisive for the next general elections. The Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, has ignited the 'face to face' meeting this morning with a message to the popular leader: "False news, mud and confrontation will not work for Feijóo."

In an interview on La Hora de La 1, Montero stated that he awaits the debate 'with great expectation' and sees the Prime Minister as 'strong and happy' ahead of the meeting. Regarding the preparation of Pedro Sánchez, the minister has stated that she "is working hard with enthusiasm and enthusiasm".

Montero has assured that he "hopes to see two ways" to deal with the situation in the country and asks the popular leader to talk about measures. "We don't know anything about the PP," he added.

Montero has also commented on some current political issues, such as post-electoral pacts. In this sense, the deputy secretary general of the PSOE has assured that her party "goes out to win by aspiring to have a sufficient majority without having to depend on it." In addition, she has asked for the confidence of the popular electorate: "We make a clear appeal to the modern voter of the PP who is not comfortable with the management of his party."

The Finance Minister has described the PP and Vox pacts as "shameful" and has asked not to equate them to government support. "The PSOE has not made any kind of agreement with the pro-independence parties," Montero said.

The leader of Sumar, Yolanda Díaz, has promised in an interview for La Vanguardia "that Catalonia will vote for a new political agreement in 2024." On these statements, Montero has stated that they are "old recipes" and has opted to "look to the future". "Catalonia is better than 5 years ago", she added.

Finally, the PSOE candidate for Congress for Seville has promised to continue with the Government's position of "revaluing pensions according to the CPI". "We will contribute 5 million euros each year to the pension piggy bank," added Montero.
