Eugenia and Cayetano Martínez de Irujo are on the warpath. The children of the Duchess of Alba, who were once close friends, not only are they not currently in a relationship, but they have made their differences more than evident. The problem, apparently, is that the Alba's little girl no longer "needs" her brother.
"Since my mother died, she has joined other siblings and she has given up on me," said a hurt Cayetano Martínez de Irujo in one of his last interviews, assuring that his sister was "happy" with her husband, Narcís Rebollo. and his daughter Cayetana. However, it was precisely Eugenia's husband who decided to come forward and speak out about what happened between his wife and her brother-in-law.
For Narcís Rebollo, everything has a solution and it would be a simple family misunderstanding. "There is not even a schism," the record manager assured, insisting that his brothers-in-law simply had to make "some adjustments in relation to some businesses they have." As Rebollo states, "it is nothing serious and nothing that is going to be solved."
The conflict, however, does not seem so insurmountable. The disagreement, it seems, goes back years. According to journalist Paloma Barrientos, part of the anger was due to the request for an alleged loan that Cayetano had requested through a company shared with his brothers for a value of three million euros.
Cayetano's objective was to make a reservoir in the Cortijo de las Arroyuelas, which the rest of his brothers refused, since it was a particular issue for a farm they owned, and they wanted to have some type of guarantee. A decision that outraged the Count of Salvatierra, and he expressed it on television: "I don't know why they paralyzed him. I don't know why they ask me for a guarantee for the same amount for society. They are not my family. What I want is forget them now."
Days later, the tensions could be cut in the atmosphere, as the whole family met again for the baptism of the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Huéscar last weekend.
A few days ago, it was Eugenia Martínez de Irujo herself who attacked her brother, ensuring that Cayetano was "taking advantage" of the fact that the duchess' other six children did not talk about their family affairs with the press. On the topic of the reservoir, Eugenia was very upset by what her brother had said on television.
"He has so much to keep quiet about. Everything he has said is a lie. We did not paralyze anything. We have facilitated the issue of the raft and when he told us that everything was in order and we signed, that is when the problems began," Eugenia assured the Vanitatis portal. , insisting that everyone is "very fed up" with what he is doing: "He played a trick on us."
Now, the fact that her brother claimed that she is already happy without him has done nothing but make her laugh: "But I've been happy for ten years!"
