Mission X, the new electric supercar that revolutionizes the lines of Porsche

Porsche celebrates its 75 years of existence with an extraordinary exercise in style that lays the foundations for the sports cars of the future. The Mission X is indeed a spectacular reinterpretation of a hypercar, with doors that open up and forward and a high-performance, efficient electric powertrain.

With the Mission X, the German brand picks up the witness of other iconic sports cars from past decades that are already part of the valuable historical legacy of the Stuttgart manufacturer: 959 (1985), Carrera GT (2003) and 918 Spyder (2013).

At Porsche they proudly affirm that this, still prototype, is a clear commitment to the essence of the brand. A technological beacon to lay the foundations for the sports cars that will follow.

The pinnacle of contemporary luxury and performance, its sculpted form and muscular lines prove that supercars don't have to look aggressive. The body, less than 1.2 meters high, is finished in Rocket Metallic, an elegant paint specially designed for this prototype. Below the beltline are carbon design elements. These components are varnished in a satin finish and lightly colored, but their material structure remains recognizable.

The vertical shape of the headlights is inspired by historical racing models such as the 906 or 908. And it has a glass dome, with carbon fiber reinforced plastic parts, which extends over the occupants. Measuring approximately 4.5 meters long and 2 meters wide, the huge wheels are a different size on each axle: 20 inches in front and 21 inches in the rear.

When Porsche puts this electric two-seater into production, its first objective will be to break the lap record on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, as a road-approved car. Most of the technical characteristics of the Mission X are unknown at the moment, but there is talk of an electrical power of around 1,500 hp. Without a doubt, a totally electrifying sporting future.
