Mazón announces “zero taxes” to boost agricultural activity and attract young farmers

The president of the Popular Party of the Valencian Community and candidate for the Presidency of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has announced today the application of "zero taxes to the countryside, with the firm purpose of making agricultural activity attractive, especially also to young farmers.

Mazón made this statement before attending the weekly meeting of the Valencia Water Tribunal, "a historic institution and a true hallmark of the Valencian people."

The president of the PPCV has indicated that his objective at the head of the Generalitat "is to reactivate the economy, and that happens by giving facilities to SMEs, the self-employed and also the Valencian countryside."

In this sense, Mazón has affirmed that the field "is dying due to the abandonment of policies that favor the growth of the sector, but also due to the fiscal costs that the field suffers." “Today I am announcing 0 taxes on the countryside to boost agricultural activity and also to attract young people. Generational change must be guaranteed. The Valencian Community, which is known for the quality of its orchards, must stop leading the abandonment of fields”, he pointed out.

The president of the PPCV has affirmed that he wants "an agrarian, productive Community, where work in the fields dignifies us as a Community and we feel proud of our products, and we can say: this belongs to the Community".

Mazón has also explained that the transmission of agricultural land, which is taxed at 8% in the Property Transfer Tax, with the PPCV will generally go to 3% in the Community, provided that they are dedicated to productive agricultural exploitation.

"If the purchaser is a young agricultural professional under 40 years of age, the rate will be 1%," he pointed out. "But, in addition, both in the case of the general rate at 3% and 1%, we are going to subsidize the fee to be paid to 99%, provided that the buyer agrees that its exploitation will last 2 years and that at this time set at five years.
