Mataró acquires seven officially protected apartments to be used for affordable rentals

The municipal company Promotions Urbanístiques de Mataró (PUMSA) acquires ownership of seven officially protected homes. The total price of the sale was 1,353,438.67 euros (VAT excluded). The homes are VPO under a general regime and will be used for affordable rent.

The flats are located in a building built by the developer Greip Activos inmatelieres, SLU, located at Narcís Monturiol Street, 30-32. They corner Calle de Arenys, Avenue de Ernest Lluch and Paseo de Marina de Mataró (Maresme). The building is part of the Ernest Lluch/Valldeix Urbanization Project carried out by PUMSA itself. This sector is equipped with a green area, the last phase of the extension of the Parc de Mar.

Of these seven homes classified as officially protected, six will be used for rent and one for relocation of someone affected by the Urban Improvement Plan for the Iveco Renfe-Farinera sector. They have 65 m2 of useful area plus terrace and two bedrooms. The rental price will be the one stipulated by the Mataró City Council in accordance with the official protection rating granted by the Generalitat with a maximum of 8.95 euros/m2 for the home and 4.48 euros/m2 for the rental of the parking spaces. parking.

With this new acquisition, PUMSA now manages a total of 306 homes, 98 owned by it, 202 owned by the City Council and six owned by SAREB. The homes are expected to be awarded at the beginning of 2024 by the Housing Service of the Mataró City Council among the people registered in the Registry of applicants for officially protected housing in Mataró.

As commented by the Housing Councilors, Sarai Martínez and the president of PUMSA, Núria Moreno, for the Mataró City Council, prioritizing investment in affordable housing is one of the lines of action of the 2023-2027 Mandate Plan. Among the projects planned to expand the park in the city, it is planned to develop new formulas for acquiring apartments under a protected rental regime; continue acquiring homes with the trial and error formula; promote new rental developments through surface rights to the Iveco and Biada areas, and build a residential development for seniors on Muntanya Street.
