Starting an event with an awards ceremony is doing it in style. This has been the commitment of Manga Barcelona for years and, for the first time, this edition turns the public into a jury. "Everyone who reads manga and watches anime is the true protagonist of these awards," said Meritxell Puig, general director of Ficomic, who acted as master of ceremonies alongside Oriol Estrada, content advisor for the show.
Both have recalled that the contest has incorporated a new special award this year, that of best anime with dubbing in Catalan, which has gone to Sakura, la caçadora de cartes, broadcast on the SX3 channel of TV3, and which last year celebrated its 25th anniversary.
