Junts will decide its position on the Table two hours before the Congress is constituted

The general secretary of JxCat, Jordi Turull, has convened an extraordinary meeting of the party Executive for next Thursday, shortly before the constitutive session of the Cortes, to decide the position of its deputies regarding the composition of the Board of the Congress.

As JxCat sources have confirmed to Efe, the meeting of the JxCat Executive will be telematic and will take place on Thursday the 17th between 08:00 and 09:45. This meeting has been called by mutual agreement with the president of the party, Laura Borràs; the leader in Congress, Míriam Nogueras, and the spokesperson in the Senate, Jaume Cleries.

The JxCat executive aims to decide the direction of the vote of its deputies in the constitutive session of the Cortes Generales that is scheduled to begin at ten o'clock in the Congress of Deputies.

In the call for the meeting carried out by Jordi Turull, he insists on the need for the leaders, spokespersons and negotiators to remain silent about the development of the negotiations, something that according to the same sources is a requirement demanded by the former president of the Generalitat and leader of the formation, Carles Puigdemont.

In the Junts executive, the most radical sector led by Borràs coexists with the most moderate and pactista who is in favor of negotiating the investiture of the PSOE candidate, Pedro Sánchez, in exchange for substantial advances in terms of self-government and an end to the "repression". against the independence movement, but without provoking the blockade with unaffordable conditions for the socialists.

The other sector, on the other hand, which includes not only Laura Borràs, but also Míriam Nogueras and a part of Puigdemont's entourage, defends negotiating from the highest demand, putting objectives such as the self-determination referendum and amnesty on the table.

Puigdemont has insisted today on his demand to remain silent so as not to cause interference in the negotiations through his Twitter profile, recommending "patience, perseverance and perspective". He also warns that, as the date of the 17th (constitutive session of the Cortes) approaches, "nervousness" grows, "the auction" rises and "speculation soars."
