Jenni Hermoso, low for the European Championship

Jenni Hermoso, forward of the Spanish women's soccer team and one of the team's captains, will not be in the European Championship in England due to a grade two sprain of the internal lateral ligament of her right knee. As a consequence of this physical mishap, Hermoso will leave the concentration that the national team is carrying out in the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas with a view to the international tournament that will be played this summer, pending the announcement of the name of the player who will replace her.

Hermoso, with 91 games, is the second soccer player who has defended the national jersey the most times, only behind Alexia Putellas. She is also the top scorer with 45 goals, the last two in the 0-2 victory against Scotland that served to mathematically seal qualification for the next World Cup. The national coach, Jorge Vilda, will announce in the next few hours which player replaces Hermoso on the list for the European Championship.

The forward from Madrid is not having any luck with injuries in this final stretch of the season. Barça's '10' has already missed the final of the Copa de la Reina due to the same injury that will prevent him from representing the Spanish team this coming summer in the European Championship. It should also be remembered that Hermoso ends his contract with Barça this year and has not yet renewed.
