Israel's seven fronts: old enemies in the Middle East reborn in support of Palestine

After more than 110 days of war in Gaza, the focus is on a possible escalation of the conflict throughout the region. If the attacks spread throughout the Middle East, the Strip would be just one of the multiple war scenarios that have reappeared since last October 7.

In fact, Israel assured a month ago that it is fighting on seven different fronts, ranging from the northern border with Lebanon - where there are almost daily exchanges with the Hizbullah militias - to the Houthis in Yemen, through armed groups in Iraq and Syria.

As noted in the video that heads this article, most of these militias are sponsored by Iran, a great regional power and historical archenemy of Israel. It is precisely the rejection of the Jewish State—and the United States, its great ally—that unites these actors under a single label: the 'Axis of Resistance'.

The map of the Middle East is a complex puzzle in which religion, geopolitics and crossed interests converge, and where the practice of war seems to have been established 'sine die'.
