In search of the lost socialist

Pedro Sánchez arrived at Moncloa against all odds and even against the PSOE. From the moment he ran for power he was seen first as a useful nerd by part of the party and then as an interloper. Sánchez was not chosen by hand or sponsored by anyone. What he got was against all odds. His success has forged a legend of indomitable, but also arrogant. And they have called that sanchismo. His permanent vindication of the acronyms and the history of the PSOE have not spared him the contempt of some comrades of acronyms, who await his debacle to cry out emphatically: "I already told you that it would lead us to disaster!"

In all games there is always someone who wants the leader. He passes Pedro Sánchez and also Alberto Núñez Feijóo. But while he rules or may be about to rule, they wait in silence or, at best, become bearable nuisances. Feijóo has announced that, if he wins the elections, he will appeal to those socialist leaders who cannot stand his boss to convince the party to vote for his investiture and thus not have to resort to Santiago Abascal. So that they have no doubt and because they are from a generation with memory, the PP candidate has copied Felipe González's motto of change, whom he placed yesterday almost as his political guide, while the distinguished former president maintains a thunderous silence . The PP candidate seems to glimpse a juicy bag of votes: that of the lost classical socialist, disoriented by relations with Gabriel Rufián and Irene Montero, who perhaps yearns for felipismo, rubalcabismo and even susanismo.

If Feijóo were in a position to go to an investiture and needed the votes of Vox, he would try to put the PSOE in the position of voting for him to avoid the greater evil. But it's not just about making the first cut. What would happen next? Would the Socialists be willing to be the parliamentary support of the PP during a good part of the legislature and thus give up becoming an alternative, leaving the field of the left free for Yolanda Díaz? Or, once the initial approval was obtained, would Feijóo agree on his policies with Vox in Congress?

But let's not rush. No vote yet. And today she plays face to face.
