The Extraordinary Draw of the Christmas Lottery will be held this Friday, December 22 at 9:00 a.m. at the Teatro Real in Madrid. It will last approximately four hours, so it is estimated that it will end at 1:00 p.m. This year the draw will distribute a total of 2,590 million euros in prizes, 70 million more than in 2022.

The boys and girls of San Ildefonso are preparing to sing the prizes and spread luck throughout different areas of the country. This year, State Lotteries and Betting will distribute 2,590 million euros distributed among the 1,807 prizes drawn from the drum.

El Gordo is the largest prize awarded by the Extraordinary Christmas Lottery Draw and is valued at four million euros in the series. As stated on the State Lottery and Betting website, after the Gordo is the second prize, which grants 1,250,000 euros to the series and 250,000 euros to the tenth prize.

The third prize is rewarded with 500,000 euros for the series and 50,000 for the tenth. In addition, two fourth prizes of 200,000 euros for the series and 20,000 for the tenth are also distributed, and a total of eight prizes of 60,000 euros for the series and 6,000 for the tenth.

The most numerous awards are those granted by the 1,794 prizes known colloquially as the "pedreas", less than 1,000 euros per tenth. The Royal Spanish Academy of Language (RAE) defines pedrea as the "set of minor Lottery prizes." These are the numbers drawn at random from the pot and do not correspond to any of the five main prizes.

The Extraordinary Draw also has so-called approximations, which are prizes that are awarded to those numerical combinations that are close to the main prizes. As indicated by the State Lottery and Betting, there are a total of 15,304 prizes in the series valued at 14,000,000 euros.

As for the approximations, there are a total of two of 20,000 euros each to the numbers before and after the one obtained in the Jackpot; This is repeated with the second and third prize. In addition, 999 prizes of 1,000 euros each are distributed to tickets whose last two figures are the same as those of the first prize (also with the second and third prize).

A total of 99 prizes of 1,000 euros each are distributed to the 99 remaining numbers of the Gordo's hundred (third figure), 9,999 refunds of 200 euros each to the tickets whose last figure is equal to that of the one obtained by the Gordo and 198 prizes of 1,000 euros each for the remaining 99 numbers of the hundred of the two fourth prizes.

According to information from State Lotteries and Betting, considering all the prizes that will be distributed in the Extraordinary Draw of the Christmas Lottery, up to 20,000 euros could be won for every euro played.
