Microsoft has just published the first trailer for the new Indiana Jones video game and the big doubt has been resolved: Harrison Ford will once again be the image of the most famous archaeologist in fiction. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be the title of this ambitious adventure, which is expected to arrive in 2024 and which, years after being announced, has finally been shown in motion.

The great unknown surrounding this project since it was presented in January 2021 was whether the famous actor would once again be the image of this iconic character, and the answer is yes, although with nuances. Although the character will have the image of Ford, the interpretation will be carried out by American actor Troy Baker, who specializes in video games and is known for such acclaimed roles as Joel in The Last of Us.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been the game that has received the most expectation among those presented by Microsoft during the Xbox Developer Direct digital event held tonight, and which has also had the presence of other highly anticipated titles such as Senua's Saga: Hellblade II or Avowe.

In addition to knowing what this virtual Indy will be like, during the presentation other details about the game have also been offered, such as that the plot will be set between the events of The Lost Ark and The Last Crusade in 1937, which will combine first and third views. person, or that will allow players to use the iconic whip to distract, disarm and attack enemies.

As announced in 2021, the development is being carried out by the Swedish studio MachineGames, creators of the latest installments of the action game Wolfenstein. Likewise, Bethesda Softworks and its head, veteran designer Todd Howard (The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Starfield), who assumes the role of executive producer, are also involved.

During Microsoft's presentation, different members of the development team emphasized that the idea of the first person is to allow players not so much to control the hero, but to make them feel like India Jones.

In addition to being very cinematic, the first trailer shows a very detailed visual section with important production values. The influence of the movies is noticeable in the editing of the video and in the protagonist's jokes. Likewise, although action sequences will play an important role, it seems that puzzle solving will also be given importance.
