From Barcelona to Silicon Valley: "I dreamed of living there"

In 2017, Anna Piñol (Barcelona, 1989, in the photograph that illustrates this information) packed her bags for California to pursue an MBA at Stanford. This economist and lawyer graduated from UPF, she dreamed of living in Silicon Valley since she discovered her passion for technology working years before at the Akamon company. After finishing the MBA, she stayed there: she co-founded the startup Jupiter, going through the famous Y Combinator accelerator. A year ago, she left the business and became an investor in the NFX fund. “I love the work and the lifestyle, you meet interesting people and the pace of life is easy. In a way, San Francisco reminds me of Barcelona”.

His case is one of many among several successful professionals who decided to try their luck in the great international mecca of technology, either founding 'startups' or holding senior positions in large companies.
