A resident of Hoyo de Manzanares found a 92-year-old man safe and sound yesterday who disappeared last Sunday when he went for a walk without a mobile phone around Mount El Ejido, municipal sources report.
The Civil Guard, after reporting the disappearance, established an important device in the area to search for the elderly man by land and air, in which citizen security patrols, mountain specialists, canine units and the Seprona participated, sources from the Command of Madrid.
After more than a day and a half of tracking, a resident of Hoyo de Manzanares found the man in good health, although slightly disoriented, on Tuesday, for which he has been transferred to his home.
The town council has expressed its "most sincere gratitude" to the security forces for the deployment of means, as well as to the neighbor who has finally found the missing person.
For its part, the Civil Guard has highlighted the importance in this type of case of the "geolocation" of the victims, which is possible by installing the Alertcops mobile application, which also allows direct communication with the security forces.
