The National Police have arrested five young Germans for their participation in the group rape of a compatriot in a hotel in Platja de Palma, Mallorca. The Police have confirmed that the arrest of these five tourists occurred at 03:40 in the morning this Thursday after a notice and reports that they are accused of a crime of sexual assault committed against another young woman of German nationality.
The attack is under police and judicial investigation, so the National Police does not give more details for now, but it is known that the case is being investigated by agents of the Family and Minors Unit. The newspaper Última Hora explains that the rape occurred in the hotel room where the attackers were staying.
As detailed, the young woman met one of her compatriots on the beach in this tourist area of Palma. The two tourists, both very young since they are around 20 years old, began to get intimate and, at one point, the man proposed to move to the hotel room, something to which the young woman agreed.
However, things did not go as the woman expected since, upon entering the room, she verified that friends of the German tourist were inside, who had been consuming alcoholic beverages. The situation began to become tense and the girl tried to leave the room and get away from the young men, but she couldn't do it and she was held against her will.
It was at that moment that several of the boys who were in the room abused her. Now it is a question of finding out if all of them committed the assault or if one of them is detained for not having done anything to prevent the rape. Until now, it has not been revealed if the young woman filed a complaint with the emergency services or if she was helped by hotel staff or one of the friends with whom she traveled to Mallorca.
The agents in charge of the case are now trying to verify the degree of participation of each of the young people in that group sexual assault. The National Police informs that it will give more details of the operation throughout the day.
