Tense coexistence and a complicated weekend were experienced in Los Villares, Jaén, after three young people reported last week that they had been victims of sexual assault by five boys, four of them residents of this small municipality of barely 6,000 inhabitants.
The relatives of one of those investigated, who had previously committed a "breach of the restraining and communication order with respect to the minor", as stated by the Government delegate in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, staged a harsh confrontation with the relatives of one of the young women who today resulted in the arrest of five of them who, until now, were missing. Those arrested, who are already in Civil Guard units, will have their statements taken and will be brought to justice.
In the brawl, three people were injured by "a knife and also by being run over," as Fernández has pointed out, one of them, the girl's father, who had to be treated at a hospital.
Faced with this situation, and despite the fact that Mayor Estela Palacios made a call last Friday for the tranquility of her neighbors and asked to let the justice system work after the complaint about the group attack, she had to resort and maintain an “important” security device to ensure that new altercations do not occur, as confirmed by the delegate of the Government of Andalusia, Pedro Fernández.
Spirits are charged in this town and coexistence becomes very difficult after two 16-year-old girls reported having been attacked on the last weekend of January by a group of five boys during the celebration of a bottle in the industrial estate of the location. After the event became known, the alleged perpetrators, four of them aged 18 and another aged 14, were detained and interrogated, although the adults were provisionally released while the minor was admitted to a center in the capital of Jaén.
The judge, before making his decision, imposed a series of precautionary measures on all of them, among which was the prohibition of approaching or attempting to communicate with the alleged victims, something that one of the accused ignored this weekend and that was the origin of this confrontation between families.
Once the news was announced, a third woman reported one of the adults allegedly involved for a similar attack (on this occasion it was a rape) that also occurred a year ago in Los Villares, and it is not ruled out that new victims of this 'pack'.
