An 84-year-old man has died and an 80-year-old woman has been seriously injured in a fire this Thursday that took place in her home, located on Ciudad Real street in the Madrid municipality of Alcorcón, as reported by a spokesperson for Emergencies 112 Community from Madrid.
The incident took place around 4:00 a.m., when two firefighters went to the scene. There they verified that the flames were limited to the affected home, in one of the rooms, while the smoke had spread throughout the rest of the home.
Summa 112 has attended to the couple who lived inside the affected house. The Emergency services have performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers for 45 minutes on the man, who was in cardiorespiratory arrest, but they have finally confirmed his death.
In addition, they have treated the woman, who had burns on her face. After being intubated, she has been transferred with a serious prognosis to the Getafe Hospital, where she has been admitted.
The National Police and the Local Police are in charge of the investigations into what happened in this fire, which was extinguished by the Alcorcón City Council Fire Brigade.
