On a new day of the Mobile World Congress (MWC), the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, visited the Telefónica stand this Tuesday, where he was received by the president of the company, José María Álvarez-Pallete.

The event took place after on Monday the Minister of Digital Transformation and the Public Service, José Luis Escrivá, announced that the Government will create a public company, the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT). This entity will mobilize 20,000 million euros and would integrate the 10% stake that it plans to take through the State Industrial Participations Company (SEPI^) in Telefónica.

Pallete explained the latest news from Telefónica to Feijóo, accompanied by the president of the Catalan PP, Alejandro Fernández, the spokesperson for the municipal group in Barcelona, ​​Daniel Sirera, and the party's deputy secretary of economy, Juan Bravo. During his visit, Feijóo highlighted that he is committed to governments that provide “stability and security” to entrepreneurs and investors to be leaders in the digital and technological sector. He also gave the MWC as an example of Catalonia's “potential” that it can develop “much more when it has responsible governments.”

On Monday, the Minister for Digital Transformation and the Public Service, José Luis Escrivá, announced the creation of the public company SETT and explained that he will present the project for its creation as an emergency procedure in the Council of Ministers next week to that can come into operation in two or three months.

The SEPI, dependent on the Ministry of Finance, is finalizing the stock market intermediation contract to proceed with the Government's entry into Telefónica through the acquisition of up to 10% of the company's shares, a process in which both to national and foreign financial entities.
