Feijóo appeals to Vox voters to "not put intermediaries in the government"

The PP candidate for the general elections, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, kicked off the race to the polls in Castelldefels (Baix Llobregat) after having passed through his hometown, Os Peares (Ourense). In the Catalan town, the popular leader launched a speech full of allusions in the Catalan code, but he also launched a message that he will surely repeat in the coming days: the appeal to the useful vote in the PP instead of the "intermediaries" he identified in Vox. Thus, the candidate intends to agglutinate a majority that is comfortable enough to avoid having to find himself in the position of agreeing on a coalition government with the ultra-right.

"I ask Catalonia and the Spaniards not to put intermediaries in the government, to allow everyone to govern (...) I am not going to give up on achieving it, to achieve a government alone," he promised. And in fact he appealed to Vox voters, who "need to have a solid government, who need their vote to become an electoral victory and not get lost along the way."

In this way, he appealed to the "broad majority of citizens", who, he says, share his approach and specifically to those of the PSOE when the party stood up to the independence movement and said no to the Ibarretxe Plan counting on the PP, an episode that occurred in the period of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. He also recalled that he defends the proposal that the most voted govern since he joined his formation.

Feijóo assured that the PP ballot is "the one that can put an end to sanchismo" and the one that will allow Catalonia to have a government that "speaks to the Catalans for real", because in his opinion "Spain has a government that only speaks to the Catalans who vote for independence”.

Feijóo predicted "the last days of sanchismo", without which Spain "will leave behind the division, botch work and the use of institutions", as well as the "cacicada" that in his opinion measures such as the approval of pardons or the reform imply of the Criminal Code, measures that "go against equality": "It is over to change pardons or rapprochement of prisoners for budgets," he said.

The candidate used the statements of Carles Puigdemont, assuring that the PSOE, on several occasions, offered him a pardon in exchange for returning to Spain and submitting to justice. “Sánchez returns to the Sanchista lie again. It is not acceptable that they lie to us so much. If we want to know Sánchez's intentions, listen to Otegi and Puigdemont ”, he reproached.

And it is that, according to the leader of the PP, the decisions of the Government of Pedro Sánchez on those convicted of the process "have not been to benefit Catalonia, but to benefit himself and stay in Moncloa" At this point, Feijóo criticized the policy of agreements between the socialists, also from the PSC, with ER, recalling the pacts in the Lleida and Tarragona councils, for example, and instead placed the decision of his party "in exchange for nothing" in State policy so that Jaume Collboni took over the mayoralty of Barcelona.

The PP candidate for the presidency chose the Catalan town to start - hours before the official start - the campaign for these elections. A town where his party recovered the mayor's rod from the hand of Manu Reyes, whom many place as the favorite of the Moncloa candidate to lead the party in Catalonia. Not so Badalona, the main Catalan city governed by the popular after the 23-M elections, although its mayor, Xavier García Albiol, did not miss the electoral act this Thursday.
