Espanyol takes another suit against Cádiz

The night was difficult. One of those that usually leave deep scars. When you risk your life, everything acquires an emotional tension that is difficult to get rid of. Espanyol did not achieve it against Cádiz. Afflicted by an unbearable string of defeats, stage fright paralyzed the blue and white team in the first half. Not so in the second, when he seemed to find that path that leads to happiness, and how elusive he is to this team. He didn't find it because of the wood up to two times. The tie achieved adds less as it is a direct rival. Espanyol will continue in relegation places.

From the beginning, the responsibility could have been placed on the Blue and Whites. On such an important night, nerves gripped the team and nothing was known about the green shoots of Villamarín. On the contrary, Luis García's team was completely disoriented both in attack and in defense. He did not know how to apply a solvent plan to reach Ledesma's goal, and in the rear he again resembled the cabin of the Marx brothers. Only Cádiz's lack of expertise allowed him to extend the chance of victory.

A feeling of panic flew over the stadium that infected the footballers in the first half. Overexcited, with anxiety and emotions on the surface, they were far from what the game needed. The road to salvation began with a thriller. A scary movie from which the footballers seemed to want to escape. And that Luis García repeated the script of Seville, with the entry of Pedrosa, recovered for the cause despite the fact that he will play in Pizjuán next season, in the left lane. But Darder did not appear wisely, Melamed was locked up and the wingers, the most demanding, did not have depth.

Cádiz, a team with a trade and temperance in Cornellà, perfectly read the faulty preparation of the parakeet defensive balance. And he only had to double the bands to complicate life for the blue and white wingers. Óscar Gil appeared in the photo on several occasions. In the clearest, Sergi Guardiola received a cross from Espino and was able to shoot Pacheco from the penalty spot. In the first he didn't connect with the ball and in the second he threw it out. The hearts of the parrots sank suddenly, and they once again flocked to support theirs with the best entry of the season.

At halftime the positive thing was that Espanyol did not lose and, therefore, they had not conceded. And it was not little knowing the history of this team in its own stadium. At the restart, a much more determined and ambitious group was seen. They all took a step forward in search of a triumph that was imperative. Joselu caused the first earthquake of the night with a shot at the base of the post that crossed the goal line and moved away from the goal at the same speed. In the continuation Braithwaite and César Montes did not find a goal. It was a triple occasion that made even the most incredulous of those present believe again. The second was a goal from a counterattack that was canceled by the assistant and confirmed by VAR for offside.

The siege was constant and would not stop growing. The passing of the minutes made the clash more epic. Cádiz rarely replied. Sergio González understood the point as a good booty. He tried it on the run Braithwaite with no luck. The game was already back and forth. Denis Suárez came on just before Joselu hit the crossbar. Far post for Espanyol and another shock in the stadium. There was one more, but Ledesma took Joselu's shot.

Espanyol did not win, which at least this time deserved it, but without victories the end of this path will be fatal.
