Energy authorizes a new wind farm in Vilalba dels Arcs, in Terra Alta

The General Directorate of Energy has granted prior administrative authorization, administrative construction authorization and the declaration of public utility for the Microvilalba wind farm, in Terra Alta.

The project consists of a 3 megawatt wind turbine (94 meters high and 112 meters of blades) and a 25 kilovolt buried energy evacuation line.

The promoter is the company Microvilalba eolian SL, with registered office in Barcelona. The planned investment amounts to 3.6 million euros.

The new plant affects the municipality of Vilalba dels Arcs, in Terra Alta (Tarragona), where there are already four wind farms in operation (39 windmills) and a fifth authorized by Naturgy, Punta Rodona, with two wind turbines.

Of all the organizations and entities consulted, only the Catalan Water Agency (ACA) issues a report in which it records two possible effects on the public hydraulic domain, which correspond to the crossings of the buried power line with the ravine of the Corberà and the Varvall ravine. The actions of the Microvilalba park may not affect the natural course of the waters.

Protecció Civil also reminds that the work to be carried out in forest areas must be carried out in times of low fire risk and with the relevant prevention measures.

The Department of Justice assures that no grave has been located in the area affected by the project.
