The fire originated around 9:00 a.m. this Wednesday in a room on the ground floor of a 10-story building located at 25 Campotejar Street, in the Usera district, as reported by Emergencies Madrid through its social networks.

Up to eight fire crews from the Madrid City Council went to the scene of the fire, quickly controlling and extinguishing the fire, although the spread of smoke through the stairwell forced two neighbors to be rescued from the façade of the third floor. and another person down the stairwell.

When the firefighters arrived, the fire was "quite developed" and the tenants of the burned apartment, who had left on their own, had left the door open, so "the staircase was flooded with smoke and it made it difficult for us to inspection and evacuation tasks of people".

"Basically the room, a bedroom where the fire occurred, has been affected. The rest of the rooms have been affected by smoke, but there has not been widespread damage, only in the room where the fire occurred," explained the Chief of the Madrid Fire Department, Jesús Borruel.
