Drew Barrymore moves Robin Williams' daughter as she remembers the late actor

The host and actress of The Drew Barrymore Show, Drew Barrymore, remembered the comedian and actor Robin Williams with the daughter of the late performer, Zelda Williams. Both shared an emotional moment after remembering the impact his father had on the lives of many people.

The talk show welcomed Zelda Williams, film director and daughter of the Hollywood actor, in a new episode. Drew Barrymore, who invited Zelda as a film director and with the purpose of talking about her new project, ended up sharing a special moment with the comedian's daughter. “Your father was the great Robin Williams,” the presenter ended up commenting after the talk about the actor's impact.

The actress also explained Zelda in a nostalgic tone: “I had the privilege of meeting him for the first time in 1982. Steven Spielberg brought him to Saturday Night Live that I hosted. “I wasn’t nervous until your father came.”

The star of hits like Charlie's Angels moved the filmmaker with her praise for the late actor, in which she described Robin as “wonderful.” Drew expressed her admiration for Zelda's father: “she has put so much beauty in this world and means so much to people,” the presenter said to the applause of the audience.

When it comes to the film career of Zelda, 34, the interview also focused on the promotion of her new project. The filmmaker's film, titled Lisa Frankenstein, is based on a horror comedy and has already been released in American theaters.

Other members of the film's cast also joined the conversation between the presenter and the filmmaker. Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton accompanied the actor's daughter during the interview, where they were also moved by the words dedicated to one of the protagonists of Dead Poets Society.

The tragic death of Robin Williams took place in August 2014 at the age of 63. After suffering from a serious depressive disorder, the actor decided to take his own life after suffering from a neurodegenerative disease called Dementia with Dewy Body (LDB).

“This morning I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and one of its most beautiful human beings. “I am completely heartbroken,” declared Williams' wife, Susan Schneider, the day after the body was found in her home.

During the interview, Zelda Williams took the opportunity to remember what her feelings were when stepping on a set with her father for the first time. “I was fascinated by her early on,” the filmmaker assured the presenter.

However, his age did not allow him to understand the magnitude of the world of cinema until, in 1999, he visited the set of the film The Bicentennial Man, in which Robin was the protagonist. “It was then when I was old enough to understand There really were a lot of jobs that I could also do,” Zelda recalled, referring to her beginnings as a film director.
