Cris is a work by the artist Marta Solsona (Barcelona, 1936), who in this photograph in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos we see serenely observing the sea.

It is a bronze sculpture on a granite pedestal, inaugurated in 2007. It shows a naked woman, seated, with an informal pose and a serene gaze, of great realism.

This piece is part of the sculpture park of Sitges, an open-air museum. In this case, we can find Cris on the Paseo de la Playa de Sant Sebastià.

With her work, the artist wanted to convey hope in a better world, promoting spaces for reflection on the important values of life. She considers art as the liberation of feelings, in a society that overvalues material aspects.

Solsona is a figurative and realistic sculptor who abandons artifice and has been influenced by the great masters of classical Greek sculpture.
