Controversy in the Complutense when trans activists sabotage a conference by Marcela Lagarde

The Mexican anthropologist, Marcela Lagarde, one of the most relevant activists today, who established the term feminicide, suffered a boycott yesterday by a group of transgender people in a conference she was going to give at the Complutense University of Madrid.

In a video that has been shared on social networks, it is seen how a group of people get up from their seats, with their heads hooded, and shout against the speaker and accuse her of transphobia. Present in the room how the legal and forensic psychologist Laura Redondo denounced what happened on social networks.

Various entities, such as the Marcela Lagarde Feminist Women's Association, have condemned the action against the activist. The event was held at the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology and had to conclude in a smaller, closed-door room. The dean of the faculty, María Esther del Campo, according to El País, tried to mediate with the protesters, but she could not do anything.

This is not the first time that sabotage of this type has occurred at the Complutense University against certain speakers. One of the most notable last was last year when the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, received the title of illustrious student. On that occasion, the high police security contributed to the fact that the cries of "cockroach", "fascist" or "murderer" remained outside the Complutense University and the activists were not able to access the room where the event was held. La Vanguardia has requested information from the Complutense communication department to have more details about what happened, but there has been no response.
