Compromís bets on going to 23-J with Sumar and opens dialogue with Yolanda Díaz

The national executive of Compromís has decided this afternoon to immediately start negotiations with Yolanda Díaz to lead a Valencian candidacy from the space to the left of the PSOE in the face of the next general elections. The voluntad de Compromís, a force integrated by Més Compromís, Iniciativa PV and Els Verds, will open dialogue "directly with Sumar", according to the general secretary of Més, Àgueda Micó.

The executive has approved the creation of a negotiating commission to "explore" this path with Sumar, making it clear that Compromís "is the force with the capacity to unite this space" in the Valencian Community and in order to prepare the lists, Micó added. The candidacy would be , in any case, led by Compromís. The decision that is negotiated, however, must be endorsed by the bodies of the Valencian coalition, according to these sources.

Alberto Ibáñez, general secretary of Iniciativa PV, has confirmed that the executive wants to start negotiations with Sumar to generate "a different alternative". And he has underlined the importance of "joining forces" to face the appointment of 23-J.

The still mayor of Valencia and member of Més Compromís, Joan Ribó, stated before the executive that he was in favor of establishing that alliance so that the Valencian formation joins the Sumar project in this new electoral call. Leaders of Iniciativa PV had spoken along the same lines.

The acting Councilor for Festive Culture and until now spokesman for Compromís in the Valencia City Council, Pere Fuset, is running to head the list of Compromís for Valencia for the next general elections on July 23 and for Sumar, if the integration, according to sources of training.

They highlight the mayor's ability to "make Valencian issues visible" in Madrid, his "very popular" profile and his "demonstrated" ability to work in the City Council, where he has been the spokesman for the Compromís municipal group and has held the Department of Culture festive.
