The mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, has started today with the winner of the May 28 elections, Xavier Trias, his announced round of contacts with municipal political leaders.
The meeting consisted of a simple exchange of views on various city issues. The PSC and the former mayor's group maintain very similar ideological positions on issues such as the revision of the civility ordinance and the modification of the rule that requires reserving 30% of new developments and large renovations for affordable housing, two issues that next fall Collboni will submit to negotiation with opposition groups, as well as the City Council budget for 2024.
Sources from the formation led by Trias have indicated that the meeting, in the official office of the mayor, has been "cordial" and has lasted about two hours, in which "they have reviewed different issues of the city, without specifying any point".
According to these sources, "Xavier Trias understands that Mayor Collboni has yet to decide what type of government he wants to promote his projects for Barcelona."
