Chanel, against the Benidorm Fest for not having been invited: “A lack of respect”

Chanel doesn't mince words. The artist who represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest two years ago with her hit 'SloMo' has exploded on social media at RTVE's latest gesture.

This weekend the popular Benidorm Fest 2024 took place, a festival aimed at selecting our country's representative in Eurovision. In addition to the candidates, the festival stage featured the participation of guest artists, among whom was Abraham Mateo.

The Cádiz native has delighted the public with his hit 'Clavaito', which he shares with Chanel. However, the person in charge of achieving Spain's best result in Eurovision in the last 27 years claims to have not received any invitation.

The Spanish-Cuban artist has decided to turn to social networks where she has shown her discontent: "Clavaito is sung at the BenidormFest2024 without me. It seems disrespectful to the Eurofans and to me of course," says Chanel in a post.

Neither one nor the other have been sung in the grand final. As if this were not enough, Abraham Mateo, one of the guest artists, has sung a song alone that he shares with Chanel. "What is denounceable is that RTVE treats the winners of previous years so badly...", a user has complained. Of course, Blanca Paloma has participated in the final, giving the winners' trophy to Nebulossa.

It is not the only controversy that RTVE is facing after the Benidorm Fest 2024. The technical failures during Almácor's performance caused the audience to burst into boos, which is why the Alicante-born representative has denounced the network for boycotting.
