Brooks challenges LeBron: "He's old. I don't respect anyone until he comes and scores 40 points"

The adrenaline that arose in the Memphis Grizzlies after the victory against the Los Angeles Lakers —and consequently the tie in the playoff series— caused Dillon Brooks, who this season has been the protagonist of several troubles, to grow up and challenge the almighty LeBron James.

Brooks, in his particular duel with 'The King', made an intense defense against the '6' of the Los Angeles team and resorted to a constant waver with the aim of taking LeBron out of the game. At times it seemed that he achieved his objective, since the Lakers player entered the rag on some occasion.

After scoring on a play, the Grizzlies forward made a comment to LeBron, who remained unmoved. This wouldn't be the only time Brooks would gloat, however, as he dunked under the watchful eye of 'The King' and subsequently hit the game-clinching three-pointer.

The Lakers player ended up entering the rag even came to face Brooks after scoring on a play.

Not content with the constant anger between the two, after the game the Grizzlies player offered some controversial statements to the press. “I don't respect anyone until they come and score 40 points on me,” he declared. At these words, one of the journalists told him that he shouldn't address a star like LeBron like that, to which Brooks replied that he didn't care. "He's old. I'm waiting for him for games 4 and 5. He's not at the same level as he was when he was in Cleveland and Miami. I wish he saw that. I mean, it would have been harder to defend him," he said.

“I let him know that he can't catch me one on one. Does not have. He goes to watch the video. He doesn't really fuck me until that moment (the one of the aforementioned LeBron scoring play). Then it was when he was replaced, he was tired. So I did my job," concluded the Grizzlies forward.
