Billionaire Kenneth Griffin increases his shareholding in Audax Renovables

Billionaire investor Kenneth C. Griffin increases his shareholding in Audax Renovables. The founder of the investment firm Citadel has acquired a 3.039% stake in the capital of the Catalan company. At market price, the value of the share package amounts to 18.7 million euros.

Griffin was already in the capital of the company led by José Elías. It had a small participation of 0.077%. With this new investment, the North American investor controls 2.98% of voting rights and 0.05% through financial instruments.

The financier is reinforced in capital at a sweet time for the company. Audax Renovables recorded a profit of 31 million euros last year compared to 8 million euros in 2022, while the gross operating result (ebitda) stood at 96 million (78%). Billing registered a decrease of 13%, to 2,293 million.

Audax closed yesterday on the stock market with a slight revaluation of 0.87%, to 1.39 per share. So far this year, it has appreciated 4.86%. Its market capitalization is 600 million euros.

Griffin appears in the CNMV registry in his personal capacity and not through one of his companies. Citadel, in which it has a stake of around 80%, manages an asset portfolio of more than 62 billion.

Audax is controlled by businessman José Elias, who owns practically 75% of the shares. The capital also includes BNP Paribas (6.3%) and Goldman Sachs (4.99%).
