Bicing workers announce an indefinite strike starting November 14

The Bicing service works council, formed by CGT and CC.OO., has announced an indefinite strike starting on November 14 at seven in the morning.

This was reported by the CGT this Thursday in a statement in which it justifies the measure to demand a five-year agreement that includes a general salary increase in the workforce, in accordance with the increase in the cost of living.

Among the claims is also the recovery of seniority, better remuneration on weekends and holidays and the creation of bonuses. CGT considers that a "worthy" agreement is being claimed and charges against Barcelona City Council for "the lack of dialogue."

The workers will gather on November 14, starting at 10:30 a.m., in Plaza Sant Jaume; the next day in front of the facilities of the public company in charge of the service, B:SM; and on November 16 they will return to Plaza Sant Jaume.

CGT criticizes that Bicing "lacks resources", with more vehicles and personnel, and estimates that the number of bicycles should increase above the current 7,000. Likewise, he maintains that "the damaged ones should be repaired and not parked in the stalls." For this reason, he emphasizes that the replacement service should be improved.
