Barça avoids a scare in Huelva

The superiority that Barça usually exerts in the Finetwork League was not in dispute during their visit to Huelva, although the victory achieved against the hard-working Sporting cannot be considered anything more than sober. A goal from Pina in the first half and another from Patri Guijarro in the second gave the three points to a Barça that maintains its total of victories along with Real Madrid and Levante Las Planas. The merit of the victory lies in not having initially lined up a good part of the stars that illuminate the Barça firmament. Neither Aitana Bonmatí, nor Alexia Putellas, nor Mariona Caldentey, nor Irene Paredes, all of them international with Spain, helped the team in the first half, Jonatan Giráldez worried about the weekday match against Valencia.

The match was a fantastic opportunity for Barça to showcase their wardrobe. Vicky López appeared there, a practically polished diamond despite her 17 years, Bruna, whose skill was key in the first goal, Claudia Pina, scorer of the initial goal, or Engen, commanding the ship with Patri Guijarro. He led the team once again offensively by Graham Hansen, whose superiority in facing and overcoming opponents seems to grow every year. The Norwegian was a nightmare for all of Sporting Huelva from the opening whistle and the best chances would come from her wing.

The Barça team's approach was eminently offensive from start to finish and the dominance was absolute. And despite the short result, Huelva was never able to generate real danger on the goal of Sandra Paños, another spectator of the match.

The understanding between Hansen and Vicky was the best thing about the first half. Thus came the clearest opportunities. The Norwegian struck and the Madrid native finished. The goal was hard to come by despite the young Madrid player testing Chelsea, the Huelva goalkeeper, on up to three occasions.

Halfway through the first half, Hansen connected again with Vicky, who returned the ball with a backheel, and set up Bruna in the area. There the lead was turned around to give the goal to Claudia Pina, who finished without a mark.

The goal gave relief to Giráldez's team, who were not excessively bright until before the break. After the restart, Barça redoubled their offensive in search of a second goal that would give them peace of mind. Hansen struck again and again with Vicky as the best partner, but the second goal did not arrive before Giráldez decided to bring in the heavy artillery.

Aitana, Alexia and Mariona jumped with the intention of resolving the duel and the harassment redoubled. Putellas had the goal in his boots with a shot from the penalty spot. Then he missed a penalty caused by Brugts. The captain fired without power and Chelsea guessed his intentions. Shortly after, it was Brugts, the protagonist in the second half, who sent a ball to the crossbar.

Tranquility came late, but it came. Aitana was the one who crossed into the area and Patri Guijarro finished off from the near post with his back turned. The ball slipped into the top corner and the goal was highly celebrated because, despite the superiority, the absence of the second goal had caused some nervousness in the Blaugranas. In the last play of the game Ballesté scored. A goal that served no purpose, but that certainly did not please the Barça bench at all.
