Arrest of up to 30 days for two soldiers from the Bruc barracks for the drawing of a prostitute

The Army has proposed an arrest sentence of between 15 and 30 days for serious misconduct for two soldiers from the Bruc barracks (Barcelona) who promoted the lottery - which never took place - for the services of a prostitute.

The sanction, announced by the newspaper Ara and confirmed by Europa Press with knowledgeable sources, involves an arrest sentence of between 15 and 30 days, and is firm.

It has been agreed after the Army opened an investigation based on article 7 of the Disciplinary Regime, in which paragraph 27 considers actions that affect the image of the Armed Forces or bring about its discredit or contempt as serious misconduct.

Although the civil Justice shelved a previous investigation considering that the events did not constitute a crime, the Ministry of Defense decided to open an investigation.

"In the Armed Forces, as in any area of society, there is zero tolerance against offenses or attacks on women. Whoever carries out or proposes any of these reprehensible behaviors must respond to justice," the Ministry stated then.

One year after the disciplinary file was initiated and the period for allegations had elapsed, the Army has proposed arrest sentences for the two soldiers, who promoted the raffle to raise money for the company's festivities celebrated on Purísima Day.

The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, described the events as "atrocious", which those sanctioned promoted in a WhatsApp group and on a poster posted in the barracks canteen where they referred to the draw for a "lady in company".
