Appeal confirms Xavi Hernández's two-match suspension

The Appeal Committee of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed the two-match suspension sanction to Xavi Hernández, Barcelona coach, imposed by the Disciplinary Committee.

In its appeal, Barcelona argued that there was a manifest material error in the match referee José María Sánchez Martínez's report, a circumstance that the Appeal does not appreciate in view of the evidence presented by the Barça club.

Therefore, Xavi, who a few months ago announced that he will not continue next season at the Barça club, will not be able to sit on the bench this Saturday in the match against Las Palmas in Montjuic and the following day in the clash against Cádiz at the Nuevo Mirandilla stadium.
