Ancelotti: "Winning the League is not impossible but it is difficult"

Carlo Ancelotti did not seem very affected after Real Madrid's draw against Betis, which puts him 9 points behind Barça, and he said he was very clear about what was happening to his team. "We have created opportunities for the result to be better but we have lacked a bit of efficiency. At this moment it is quite clear what we have to improve", declared the Italian.

For Ancelotti, the qualifying situation is not dramatic but it is complicated. "The League is not impossible, we can win it until the end, but it is difficult," he admitted. "I hope these bad results affect the players because otherwise we couldn't improve," he added.

Real Madrid has chained three negative results, two league draws and a cup defeat, with just one goal scored. A scenario that surprises Ancelotti a bit: "It's quite unusual for Real Madrid to only score one goal and from set pieces in three games."

The coach had an impact on the aspect of the efficiency of his players: "We started well from behind and looked for the ball between the lines but we lacked efficiency. We have lost a bit of speed in transitions, we like to play a little more instead to get the ball fast forward".

For his part, Lucas Vázquez, who was a starter on the right side, admitted that the result does not convince his team in any way. "We are not happy at all with this draw. The team has made merits to get something more but we have lacked some success from three quarters of the field," he explained as soon as the Villamarín duel ended.

The draw against Betis moves Real Madrid away from Barça by nine points in the table, but Vázquez tried to send a message of optimism to his fans: "The League is not over at all, we believe that we can turn it around and we will fight until the end. We are still in March. That people trust us, we will fight in the three competitions we have".
